September 2015: BCA reported that more than 2,500 buildings are Green Mark certified.

HOW DO YOU GET CERTIFIED?
STEP 1
Portal Registration
Applicants must register on the GMI online application portal using a valid company name, UEN, and email address.
STEP 2
Administrative Information
Applicants are required to submit general application details, including:
- Application title and type
- Company information and UEN
- Appointed representative and contact details
- Letter of Award recipient (if applicable)
STEP 3
Project Information
For each project, the following information must be provided:
- Project coordinating company details
- Host building information
- Interior floor area and intended certification rating
- Target sustainability badges (if applicable)
- Tenancy scope, lease period, and system details
- Air-conditioning and ventilation system information
STEP 4
Submission and Fee Confirmation
Upon submission, SGBC will review the application, confirm applicable fees, and proceed with assessment upon payment.
– The largest project is charged at the full certification fee
All projects must be completed within twelve (12) months from the issuance of the first Letter of Award.


To be eligible for Green Mark for Interiors certification, projects must meet the following minimum requirements:
– Interior fit-out works must be fully completed and in operation for at least three (3) months
– Tenancy agreements must clearly define the scope of the interior area and responsibilities
– Lighting systems must demonstrate at least a 10% improvement in energy performance compared to SS 530:2024 requirements
– All declared systems and areas must fall within the applicant’s scope of control
ES Management provides professional support throughout the Green Mark for Interiors (GMI) certification process, ensuring that applications are prepared accurately and in accordance with current SGBC requirements. Our role is to ensure that each GMI application is prepared clearly, accurately, and in full alignment with current Green Mark for Interiors guidelines.
Eligibility and Scope Assessment
We review the completed interior fit-out and tenancy arrangement to confirm eligibility under the GMI scheme, clearly defining the assessment scope in line with the applicant’s responsibilities and areas of control.
Guidance on GMI Requirements and Documentation
We provide structured guidance on applicable GMI criteria and supporting documentation requirements, assisting clients in understanding assessment expectations and evidence needed for submission.
Coordination and Verification of Submission Materials
We coordinate the collection of technical information, drawings, and supporting records, and perform consistency checks to ensure submitted materials are complete, accurate, and aligned with declared project scope.
Application Management and Liaison with SGBC
We manage the application process on behalf of the client, including submission coordination and communication with SGBC during the assessment period, addressing queries and clarifications as required.
