    COMMERCIAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

    Launched in December 2018, the enhanced Eco Office programme provides applicants with new tools and approaches to begin their certification journey. This includes a greater focus on change management and driving behavioural changes amongst employees.

    A tier system was also introduced to help companies improve over time, and to recognise their efforts and achievements. The tier categories are Eco Office Premium, Professional, Champion and Elite. Offices are encouraged to move up the tiers as they progress. The top Elite category is awarded to offices that have achieved excellent environmental performance, and done well to spread the green message amongst employees.

    Steps To Certification

    HOW DO YOU GET CERTIFIED?

    To get certified under the ECO-OFFICE Certification Scheme, building owners or developers must submit an application to the SEC. The application must include documentation of the building's design and construction features and performance data related to energy consumption, water consumption, and other environmental criteria.

    The SEC then conducts an evaluation of the building's performance,
    and if it meets the required standards, it is awarded a certification level.

    Stakeholders, including investors and staff, are also driving companies to have effective measures in place with respect to ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) issues, and verified PCF is an important step in reaching that goal.

    Many customers are looking to use their purchasing choices as a way to help protect the planet from climate change. Forward-thinking businesses are therefore measuring the carbon footprint of their products to enable consumers to make that choice, and at the same time gain a better understanding of their GHG emissions so that they can reduce them.

    STEP 1

    Application

    Complete a Quote Request Form so that we can understand your company and requirements. You can do this by completing either the online quick quote or the online formal quote request
    form. We will use this information to accurately define your scope of assessment and provide you with a proposal for certification.

    STEP 2

    Assessment

    Once you’ve agreed your proposal, we will contact you to book your assessment with an ES Management Assessor. This assessment consists of two mandatory visits that form theInitialCertificationAudit.

    Please note that you must be able to demonstrate that your management system has been fully operational for a minimum of three months and has been subject to a management review and full cycle of internal audits.

    STEP 3

    Verification

    Following a successful two stage audit, a certification decision is made by an external auditor, then certification to the required standard is issued by ES Management. You will
    receive both a hard and soft copy of the certificate. Certification is valid for three years and is maintained through a programme of annual surveillance audits and a three yearly recertification audit.

    addressing the establishment’s environmental policies, air quality,
    water, energy and waste management.

    Prior to certification, SEC engages and provides applicants with tools and information to work on their Office Environmental Guidelines via its “Eco Office Enhanced Capability Building Programme”. After certification, SEC will continue on a yearly basis to guide companies on improving identified environmental gaps, through an Eco Office Health Check. Companies will also be able to connect with SEC via its Eco Office “E-Concierge Service” – a platform where SEC can help companies address environmental queries pertaining to their office environment.

    Upon completion of project, a certificate will be issued once documents are approved
